Join Our Streets Transit Coalition which includes Metro Justice, ATU Local 282, Rochester People's Climate Coalition, Mother's Out Front Rochester, NY and Reconnect Rochester, meeting up with a contingent of the Buffalo Transit Riders United - BTRU in Albany for a lobby day on Feb 12!
We'll be pushing our legislators for increased funding for upstate public transit systems; implementation of a carbon pricing and remediation study; and rider representation on transit authority boards. This is our opportunity to move both legislative houses towards action on these bills that are of critical importance to working class communities, communities of color and climate justice. Our asks are:
1) increasing money for upstate transit systems by 50% over the next five years.
2) support for a carbon tax study (A00107-S02846)
3) rider representation on transit authority boards (A11139-S0516A)
4) legalize electric bikes (A07791C-S06029C)
