2016 marks the 10th year since the Campaign for Fiscal Equity (CFE) school funding lawsuit created the Foundation Aid formula. Foundation Aid was designed to create an equitable school system for the black, brown and poor children across New York State. But in 2016, the Assembly was the only legislative body to propose 100 percent of Foundation Aid, while the Senate Majority proposed a measly 20 percent and Governor Cuomo proposed a pathetic 6 percent. Our children have been waiting over 10 years.
The time is now!
Join us for a bus trip to Albany to meet with local legislators and push for the money Monroe County's Public Schools are owed. We will be rallying against Trump's education agenda, and demanding an end to the structural racism of underfunded schools in black and brown communities.
The bus leaves Tuesday, Januay 10 at 6:30am from our office at 1115 East Main St. and will return the same evening. We must fight back so Trump and Governor Cuomo do not ignore communities of color and the poor.
