THANK YOU!! - ROC THE DAY TUESDAY
Here are Metro Justice news and events for the week of 11/28/25
THANK YOU!!
As a volunteer driven organization, Metro Justice runs on gratitude. People who are thankful for their position of privilege work to make the world more just. People who have been helped in organizing in their neighborhoods are inspired to continue. People who see a difference in their lives join in to do even more. If cash is the fuel of capitalism, hope and gratitude are the fuel for what we do. To everyone who has attended a rally, planned a meeting, drafted a report, or donated their time or money to a fundraiser, we want to say Thank You. Your efforts are not only appreciated, they are the fabric of what we are, and the foundation of what we achieve together. Thank you.

ROC THE DAY TUESDAY
Ah, you thought in this brief holiday edition you would get away without a reminder of our fall/winter fundraiser? It is happening this coming Tuesday, all day at our page on the United Way Roc the Day site. Our page is up now, but the donate button is only there on that day. If you'd like a reminder, click here!
Hopefully next year we will have finished gearing up for all the ways we are fighting the tide of authoritarianism and have a little breath left to organize a fundraiser where we get to gather in person and celebrate. But in the mean time, you can gather and help with either of two phone banks, at our Gregory Street office: 2-4pm tomorrow, November 30th, and 4-6pm Monday, December 1st. Bring a phone, and a laptop if you have one. Making calls to members is fun, easy and a tremendous help — we'll be more than happy to walk you through it, and it makes a huge difference for us.
UPCOMING EVENTS

DESKTOP ACTIONS:
-
In Mexico, despite pretenses of social justice under President Claudia Sheinbaum, the dispossession of indigenous lands continues apace in the quest to implement the Mayan Train, the Interoceanic Corridor, the Morelos Integral Project, and the so-called "Highway of Cultures" among other extractive megaprojects. As such, Mexico is one of the most dangerous countries in the world to be a defender of land and rights.
- Click here to send an email to the Mexican Ambassador in Washington D.C. denouncing the ongoing dispossession and criminalization of indigenous defenders.
- Click here to send an email in Spanish to President Claudia Sheinbaum, Secretary of Interior, Rosa Icela Rodrígues Velásquez, and Governor of Chiapas Eduardo Ramírez Águilar denouncing the participation of government entities in violent land grabs!
- Metro Justice supports The New York Immigration Coalition's call for the New York For All Act, ending collusion between local and state agencies and federal immigration enforcement. Please sign the petition at the link!
- Repost/tweet the New York Health posts at the Campaign for New York Health Facebook page every Tuesday and Thursday noon
- Tell Governor Kathy Hochul: no more direct or indirect subsidies to prop up the failing boondoggle that is the STAMP mega industrial site. No more state permits or approvals to a destructive project that violates the Nation’s treaty rights to free use and enjoyment of their homelands.Click here for the statement. Then, click here to send Governor Hochul an email.
- Get a "Replace RGE" yard sign! Be the envy of your neighbors!
