Metro Justice is a progressive member-driven, grassroots organization dedicated to social, economic, and racial justice in Rochester, NY. We organize across race and class to fight white supremacy, economic exploitation, and every form of oppression.
We got our start in 1965 as Friends of FIGHT, born out of the fight for equal access to good jobs at Kodak. Six decades later, we're still in the fight for fair wages, racial equity, and an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few.
We led the Fight for Economic Justice campaign, which grew into the statewide Fight for $15, raising wages for food service and other workers across New York. Today we're organizing against wealth inequality and the poverty it creates in our city.
We believe lasting change doesn't come from politicians. It comes from organized people. When we join together, our voices are louder, our efforts stronger, and our power real.
Our mission is to build people power in Rochester, organizing across race and class to fight white supremacy, economic exploitation, and all forms of oppression. We develop leaders, grow movements, and fight for a just world for all.
We envision a Rochester where working people and communities of color hold real power and where justice, not profit, shapes our economy, our politics, and our lives.
