Sunday, May 31, 12-3 pm Anti-rate hike block party! Join Rochester for Energy Democracy (RED) at Washington Square Park, across from RG&E's S Clinton office, on Sunday May 31st. The event will kick off at noon with a press conference responding to the current state of our utility bills, and the rest of our afternoon will be spent celebrating our win delaying RG&E's new rate hikes, enjoying a potluck, yard games, and music. We're all broke, but at least we'll be broke together, and together we're stronger.
Wednesday, June 3, 7-8 pm New York Health Savings Webinar Learn about how the structure of the New York Health Act will lead to enormous savings in the budgets of school districts, counties and municipalities, whose anticipated spending for employee and retiree healthcare and other health-related expenses will be cut by more than half when the bill goes into effect.

Sunday, June 14, 12:30-2:00pm New Member + Volunteer Engagement Workshop (hybrid — on Zoom + in person at the Metro Justice office): We're excited to announce another Volunteer Engagement Workshop + New Member Orientation a bit early — this time for Sunday, June 14. Whether you're a longtime supporter, new member, or totally unfamiliar with our work this is your chance to get plugged in to what we do! So if you want to get involved in the fight for justice here in Rochester, this is a great way to jump in. RSVPs are encouraged.

Reject the Development of an AI Data Center on Cayuga Lake: TeraWulf, a bitcoin mining company-turned AI data center company, is proposing a 300 or 400 Megawatt AI data center on the shores of Cayuga Lake. This development will bring adverse environmental, quality of life, and economic impacts to much of all life as we know it throughout the Cayuga Lake watershed.

May 28th is the 80th anniversary. The weeks following May Day in recent years as well as the broad reach of No Kings have resulted in many conversations about the potential of general strikes — so this will be a great chance to reflect on a historic moment for our own city.
