Join the largest mass mobilization of healthcare workers in decades to demand sweeping improvements to healthcare funding, jobs, staffing, and care. Three years into a pandemic which shattered our daily lives, our sense of safety, our physical and mental health, our needs as workers and caregivers must not be neglected any longer. Hundreds of buses will be heading to Albany from across New York. Families welcome!
We are in an unprecedented healthcare worker crisis. Leaders in Albany and aren’t investing the resources needed to improve healthcare jobs, hire and retain staff, and protect standards for quality care for people in Upstate.
This must change NOW. We will not wait any longer. We demand an immediate 20% increase in Medicaid rates for nursing homes and a 10% for hospitals to address the healthcare staffing crisis and to raise wages for Upstate hospital and nursing home workers.
It will take a real commitment from our community to make this happen. We are organizing major events to win increases in Medicaid reimbursement rates for Upstate.
A bus from Rochester will be departing at 6:30 AM from the 1199SEIU office on 259 Monroe Avenue, and returning to Rochester at about 6 PM that same day.
Are you wiling to join us Tuesday, March 21, as thousands rally in the state’s capital?
