This year is Metro Justice's 50th anniversary! We can hardly imagine a more appropriate time to reflect on the important history of our organization while strengthening it for the fights ahead of us. Today two movements are sweeping the country: fast food workers striking for $15 and the right to form a union without retaliation and youth, mostly black, demanding the right to exist peacefully and an end to police brutality in their communities.
As communities step up demanding economic and racial justice, we know that Metro Justice will stand with them. We have a proven 50-year history of doing exactly that. It's been the restless activity of our membership, our insistence to speak truth to power, and our steadfast dedication to social justice that has kept us alive all this time. 2015 is our year, and it's time that we grow our movement to take on and win our many fights.
Join us for a celebration of our 50th Anniversary, to learn about how we intend to grow throughout the year, and to vote on our budget and incoming Council for 2015. This is your organization and it only works with your activity.
