Join Metro Justice members past and present for a 60th Anniversary kickoff gathering at Genesee Valley Park!
Share stories from your time in the struggle, reflect on the organization's history, and shape upcoming initiatives to preserve and celebrate Metro Justice's legacy during the coming year!
We will gather at GVP's Hawthorne Shelter starting at 1 pm for a potluck picnic and mingle, followed by a sharing of stories by long-time members, a display of archival photos and memorabilia, and more!
Since its inception as "Friends of FIGHT" in 1965, Metro Justice has been guided by the radical idea that ordinary people can have an impact on the central issues facing Rochester. Over the years, our members have fought for housing justice, racial justice, demilitarization, media democracy, energy democracy, universal healthcare, women's and LGBTQ rights, and much more.
What were the defining struggles during your time in the organization? Do you have photos or other materials you'd like to share? Let us know here!
Can you join us on August 24th? RSVP and click here for potluck signup — or if you can bring toys, games (lawn games, board games, cards, etc), and other supplies!
