We have won a panic defense ban in New York, but our work is far from done. The work of creating a brighter future for young queer people, in particular those who already belong to other marginalized communities. That starts with education.
Currently sex ed is already lacking, giving only the quickest glossing over, and while safe sex is touched upon for cis-het students, the different concerns for LGBT+ students are ignored. Meanwhile students learn almost nothing about important historical figures in the LGBT+ community, both those that fought explicitly for us, such as Marsha P Johnson, and people who have contributed to society in other ways, like Alan Turing.
Changing this situation will go a long way toward ending the stigma that currently exists around being LGBT+. Sign up today and help us with this movement.
