Are you interested in deepening your understanding of how our current economy is tied up with environmental and climate chaos, along with other systems of domination? Do you want to learn more about and discuss your ideas for alternatives, and what those solutions look like? Are you interested to hear how that’s connected to work that’s happening in NY and locally?
Then join Metro Justice for an evening of popular education on moving from an extractive to a regenerative economy developed by NY Renews, based on Movement Generation’s Just Transition Zine. We’ll talk about the work of NY Renews - a statewide coalition of more than 350 organizations working for climate justice, touch on the campaign to replace RGE and dive deeper into thinking about the root causes and effects of the extractive economy, versus a regenerative one.
We’ll also share dinner together. Come for an evening of exploration as well as meeting others from Metro Justice, regional organizations involved in NY Renews, and others interested in this work!

LOCATION CHANGE - This event will now be held at SEIU 1199 in the Conference Room. This is Monroe Square, where Trillium Health is also located. To find the SEIU office, enter the center doors on the parking lot side (other side of building than Monroe Ave) and office is on the 2nd floor directly above the entrance. So you can take the elevator and turn right, or take the stairs and then walk back towards the parking lot. Follow signs for SEIU 1199 once you're on the 2nd floor.
Accessibility: Office is wheelchair accessible, with ramps on sidewalks, and an elevator to the 2nd floor.
Please also email Michi with any dietary needs, there's unfortunately not a good mechanism to collect them here.
Program note: You’re invited to review the linked zine before the session, but you’ll be able to fully participate also if you cannot.
