Political pressure to raise the minimum wage in New York state is rising every day. Join us as we bring in some powerful allies to voice support for an increase in the minimum wage in New York to $10.10, indexed to inflation, that allows local municipalities to raise it 30% higher as they see fit and to bring an end to the sub-minimum wage for tipped workers!
The press conference will include:
- Saru Jayaraman, Co-Director of Restaurant Opportunities Center-United
- Terry O'Neill, President of the National Organization of Women
- Ty Woolsey, Wendy's worker leader that recently went on strike
- State Senator Ted O'Brien
We need our Metro Justice members to turn out in their red! Wear your shirts and come support this powerful group of leaders that are calling for a substantial raise in the minimum wage now.
