Join Metro Justice for a Customer Service Day Rally at the RG&E Customer Service Center on 180 South Clinton Avenue!
If you have an unresolved RG&E service or billing issue, come out to this event to have Metro Justice volunteers accompany you to get your complaint resolved with customer service. At the same time, we’ll have community members rallying outside in support, as well as educating the public about the current RG&E billing crisis and the benefits of a public utility! A programmed press conference and rally will occur from 12:30 - 1 PM, and our volunteers will stay until 3 PM to continue supporting folks seeking customer service and educating the public.
RG&E parent companies Avangrid and Iberdrola make 100 million in profits every year off of our backs and while we pay expensive bills for terrible service. While the billing crisis is the latest of RG&E’s outlandish failures, RG&E hasn’t been adequately serving our communities for a long time. For decades, RG&E has exploited area residents with rate hikes, winter shut-offs, a disastrously maintained grid, inaction on climate change, and understaffed customer service, despite promises from RG&E that they’ll do better. The public deserves a utility that we can trust to consistently do its job, and that’s why the long-term solution is a public, community-controlled, local utility where ratepayers and utility workers have a well-staffed, affordable, and reliable energy provider.
RSVP below to join us for this rally to support our neighbors in getting the help they deserve on their energy bills, while rallying to show our City and County representatives that our community wants a public utility! If you will be attending to access customer service, please also email our Organizer, Michelle Wenderlich at [email protected], to let them know!
